Daytime & Overnight Pet Sitting

In-home pet sitting allows your dogs and small pets to stay in the comfort and familiarity of their own home. I will check-in during the day** and stay over at night.

My in-home pet sitting services are available for both dogs and other small family pets within Nanaimo and the surrounding area.

When you book Dee's Dogs pet sitting, you'll be able to rest easy knowing that your pet is cared for and comfortable in their own environment. You'll also have the extra benefit of an experienced sitter looking after your home while providing a regular security presence.

While you're away I will provide you with regular text updates to provide assurance that your pets and your home are being properly taken care of.

My main pet sitting page provides additional general info about my process. I also offer overnight pet sitting for short trips away or pets that have fewer check-in needs.

**IMPORTANT**
Please note that my pet sitting does not include 24/7 monitoring!
For us to be a good fit, your pet must either:

  • Be okay to join me for social hikes and be able to be left alone for at least 5 hours; OR
  • Be okay with being alone at home for a typical 8-hour work day (with a check-in between 4pm–6pm)

More Than Pet Sitting

Since my pet sitting services are provided in your own home, I'll also be looking after the place while you're gone.

Safe & secure home

With a regular presence and someone staying the night, your home won’t be left empty for long while I live in your space and take care of your pets.

Alive & well plants

Thanks to my diploma in horticulture, my thumb is plenty green enough to look after your houseplants and keep an eye on your garden while you're away.

Tasks taken care of

During our initial chat we'll discuss daily tasks I can help with. Collecting your mail, putting out the garbage bins, and shoveling snow can all be taken care of.

Your dog’s routine

Ideally, your dog participates in my daily social hikes. This is included as part of my dog sitting service, no extra cost.

However, in order to take part in my daily social hikes, your dog needs to be: social, and suited to spending time with others; good in the car; well-behaved with any type of dog; and energetic!

Please keep in mind: even if your dog does join me on my social hikes, they will still be left alone for at least 5 hours during the day.

If your dog can't join me on social hikes, they will be left alone for a typical 8-hour work day, and stay in your home while I serve my other clients on my regular rounds.
